Audition Done!

Well i had my audition is done! had it today, i was really quite scared! and i cannot tell you how many times i've been to the loo today!!!
Luke briggs gave me a lift up, and then we had a bit of a pray in the car before i went in. Got in and there were a few people already in the reception and half of them we're the current students! in the end it turned out there was 3 of us auditioning, me, a girl called bee from macc, and a guy called gareth from preston. We went upstairs, had a bit to eat, had a bit of a chat with matt and libby(the main men(and women) when it comes to genetik, and then had a bit of a presentation about the message. we then had a guided tour of the building, and then came the scary bit, the auditions! Bee was the first to go, she was doing singing. then it was gareth, who was mcing, then it was my turn. Walked in, so nervous, made worse by the fact that they we're videoing it!
So sat there we're libby, matt tim owen and two girls from blush, felt abit like the x factor when libby said "so what are you going to sing for us", so i sung facedown, and i think it went very well, i even got a little round of applause afterwards! Then Tim was like, "have you got any of your own material" so i played them a sogn me and chris wrote last week, which idnt go aswell, messed up of the chord changes a couple of times.
So audition done with i go back and its time for the interview! once again bee goes first, get back, gareth goes. Then its my turn, and i'm not nervous, already dun the scary bit! and i think that went well to, cant actualy rember what they ask me tho!!
So thats it, i should know within a week!
Thanks so much for all your prayers guys!

first week

Well thats my first week done, and its been great fun! Had a good first morning, which was basicaly an induction, shown around the church office, etc, then we went round to alans for dinner(he has the cutest kids!)
Then in the afternoon he got me reading this book about small groups, because as part of my work with alan i will be running a small group for year 7 & 8. Which is what i spent most of wednesday planning, and it should be good!
Things to keep in your prayers, urm, first of all thank God that this is happening, as its gunna be a great experience. Also thank God that he is going to be taking me out of my comfort zones, some of the stuff i'm probably going to get involved with is quite scary!
Also next wednesday i have my genetik interview, which i am peeing my pants about, so just that that would go well!
Finally i'm going to miss every1 as they go to uni, but i would really like prayer that God would use this as a chance to develop other friendships, new and existing ones

Thanks
Joe

First Post

Well after a flash of inspiration from the Re-fresher blogger i decided to set my own up to keep people up to date with my Gap year. I start next tuesday at the Baptist Church working with Alan, my outh leader. I am going to be invloved with a few things such as Club Energy and and a house group. I'll be working 20 hours a week, tuesday, wednesday and then another 4 hour slot somewhere in the week.
I'll be doing this until Feb, when i'll hopefuly start a course called Genetik, where I will be having evangilistic training and also I will be developing my worship leading skills. I have my interview & audition(scary!) on the 29th so keep that in your prayers.
Thats all for now, feel free to coment!
